The beginning of the CPN Veterans Organization was ushered in at an ‘open house meeting’ held on 25 January 2007 at the Cultural Heritage Center. Several topics were discussed.
The second meeting was held on 27 February 2007 and attended by 17 veterans. A motion was made and seconded to elect officers for the positions of President; Vice President; Secretary/Treasurer and Public Information Officer. The elections were to be held at the next meeting on 27 March 2007 at 1830 hrs. Several discussions were held.
The third meeting was held on 27 March 2007 . The following officers were elected:
- President – Troy Graham
- Vice President – Keith Cagle
- Secretary/Treasurer – Joe David Melott
- Public Information Officer – Keith Cagle
Multiple submissions were accepted to select a design for the organization’s patch. The fourth meeting was held on 24 April 2007. The following items were discussed:
- Terms of office
- Finalize vest design
- Official group name
- Festival activities
A Festival meeting was held on 30 June 2007 in the Long Room at the Cultural Heritage Center. The Grand Entry was the debut for the new vest and patches. After this meeting, monthly meetings were set to be held on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 1830 hrs.
